Mixtionary of Visual Language(s):
A tool for image makers intending to stay critical
What are the effects provoked by the constant bombardment of persuasive visual messages? How can this affect our choices? Does it influence our political attitudes, our lethargy or proactiveness?
A tool to foster comprehension.

The research on visual language started when needing a method to show students that theory and practice are not separate entities. Diving into the characteristics of play and game mechanics, we designed My Photography Toolbox.
An adaptation for children followed. In a world where we are unknowingly ready to read sequences of images with the logic of their syntax we should aknowledge the ways to use this grammar since primary education.
The last derived is this Dictionary of visual language. This “object” is designed like a cheat sheet in a color chart. It contains the components we’ve been collecting from the literature and from our practice, an exhaustive taxonomy, with more than 60 units.
